Ko To Tatou
The last weeks we have been learning about where is our river. I mainly used the source of google maps to find my river I didn't end up finding because it classes as private property on google maps. I have been learning the facts of my river Ngapipito and have found facts I never knew before. Ngapipito road starts from the end of Otiria rd to Mangakahia rd.
Fractions and precentages
In math I have to work on fraction percentages. I find fractions and percentages hard because i have not yet learnt these math skills. I've moved from stage 6 to early 7 in the progressions of math. My next steps are to become fluent in my math skills.
Metaphors
This week we have been learning how to use metaphors. Metaphors are similar to similes. Metaphors are a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is inserted to an matter or activity it is not literally relevant. The hard part was to connect a figure of speech so it makes sense in what your writing. I now have learnt about why metaphors are important when to use them and not to use the words like or as. When using a metaphor you need to have two nouns and one adjective.

Comparing
I have been learning to make connections so that I am fluent in my learning. When comparing two stories together to get similarities and differences you will be making connections to the authors point. The hard part is when you have two stories to compare and they are on the same topic such as two stories about caving or geologist you have practically the same idea on the same topic. The easy part is knowing the suitable tool to use.
