ADDING DECIMALS

This week we have been learning how to add decimals. We had to learn the rules of the decimal point and where and who it works. The easy part was to use algorithm as a strategy to work out the addition questions. The hard part is to answer the question without working my thinking. Success criteria is if your using place value you carry number higher than 9 and always add or times from right to left.

Finally it was our turn it was not at all nervous as allot of decided on not to try. The horn went of and then we jogged around the corner and started walking. There was a group of people who tried for a placing but a bigger group who didn't try. We ran the course until we got to the mud we had a huge mud fight and got as dirty as possible we were tackling each other into the mud and then afterwards we had a swim. But then we had to leave and finish of the race we ran to the road then we jumped on the back of a track and finally ran around the field an completed the race.

Urupukuapuka

Kia ora tatou, on Friday our class and room 2 went to Urupukapuka island to learn lots of facts.
The point of heading over was to help bring back the song of  birds, their homes and a safe healthy environment for them to stay in. It was a one day trip. We built traps and planted native trees because we needed to make more traps to catch pest and plant trees for future bird habitats. In eager to wanting to help the Ipipiri islands it is a hard process but possible to accomplish with more help and people to support. The translocation of the birds help repopulate the birds so there is more. There are 80%  endemic birds in New Zealand.
