Athletics Day
Yesterday we had our school athletics. We participated in High jump, Long jump, Shot-put, Discus, Sack races and Hurtles. We were learning how to be resilient to participate in everything have good sportsmanship and try our hardest. I enjoyed participating in all of our activities we done. Next time I will try my hardest because i didn't yesterday.

Boat Reflection
This morning we tested one of our waka in our school pool. We filled the two bottles with water and predicted will it float or will it sink three people thought it would float and the rest of class thought that it would sink. It sunk because the bottles were filled with water which meant it wasn't buoyant.

Taumarere
Our class billingual unit travelled to Taumarere to learn about is history we caught a train down. When we got there we went into this tiny room and a lady explained to us the history of the pictures the had on the wall. After that we went for a long walk and during that walk we had a scavenger hunt.

Reading to NRR
Our school celebrated the re-opening of school library we done activities around it we were allowed to dress up as a book character and we also went into buddy classes. Our class was Nga Rau Rito. We had to read to juniors and talk to them the importance of reading.
Assembly
In week 4 my class and It was our class assembly i found it alright also because I wasn't included in any of the items. The easy part was helping put the MC slide together. Next time i'll try be more inclusive in participating in our class items.
Kapa Haka
On Saturday the 17th our school Kapa Haka Ropu performed at Maranga Mai E Te Iwi 2018 Te Taitokerau primary and intermediate schools Kapa Haka.
In our aggregate items we place 2nd in our waiata-a-ringa placed 3rd in Whakaeke and Whakawatea. For our other items we placed 3rd in our Waiata-Tira and Whai korero we placed 1st equal with 3 others for Kaitataki-Wahine. Overall we came 3rd in the intermediate section. To my opinion I think that we done well.
Our performance: TE RAU POU MANAWA O KAWAKAWA.

Taumarere is the prominent awa of Ngati Hine.The sacred awa Taumarere was a main highway of our Tupuna and hence an important initiative for the progeny of Hineamaru. Taumarere When Kawiti reached maturity, he was admitted into Te Whare Wananga mo nga Tohunga, at Taumarere, one of the ancestral villages of Ngati Hine.
