Exposition writting
Today in writing I have been learning about exposition writing. Our topic was should we have animals as pets. I was on whakahe all my reason were things about less reproduction, uninterrupted cycle of life natural habitat and much more. I had to list loads of reason on why I disagree that animals should be kept as pets. I had to take a stance and argue my opinion. The skills I am learning are writing reasons and putting them into a graphic organiser, structure a persuasive, look carefully, recognize a reason and a example and also to take a stance on your thoughts.

Angles
In math we have been learning how to draw, identify and name angles that are acute, obtuse, right and straight. An angle is formed when two lines meet at a shared point. They are measured in degrees, which are represented by the symbol °.

Narrative writting
In writing I have been learning how to do narratives. We broke down the body of writing into parts to learn bit by bit. First we learnt how to to use a graphic organiser to plan my writing. Include key information for the orientation, events, closing paragraphs. Next I learnt how to write the orientation. I had to bring my story to life using adjectives and interesting vocabulary. Then I learnt how to write a middle event for a narrative. I had to write the events leading up the problem, then describe the problem in detail, and stretch out the solution! Lastly I learnt how to write a closing statement to sum the whole story up.
Here is my middle event for a narrative.

Waitangi trip
This term I am learning about the first encounter of the British and Maori. I travelled to Waitangi with my class and we learnt about the first encounters the people who were involved but the main focus was to learn and create digital objects about the encounter of British and Maori. But before we started we had to learn information about the first encounter so we went on a walk around the museum and the treaty grounds gathering information. The most memorable thing for me on the walk was the museum because it had information about our Maori Rangatira and their weapons. My favourite technology item was the Sculpt GL because you were able to create carvings.
cultural festival
Recently our school held a Southern Bay Of Island Cultural Festival. It included performances such as Kapa Haka, Waka commands and Hula there were also competitions in between performances.
I liked how the schools who came participated in performing some didn't perform but they came and supported in the audience. It was a very eventful day and full of good performers. When I stood and performed with my ropu I felt nervous as I took one step onto the atamira but hearing everyone cheer and feeling the wairua of the ropu gave me confidence.
