Track the Tanker

This week in math I have been learning to understand how to use whole numbers of metric units for length, volume, capacity, weight, angle and temperature.
What I liked was learning how to divide and multiple numbers in the hundreds of thousands.
What I disliked was how my problem solving group weren't working that well together.
I investigated the math behind the everyday dairy supply. These are some of the things that we had to use to complete our work: Identify, trace, match, observe, summarise and locate.

Matariki celebration

Last week our school celebrated Matariki. We celebrate this because it is a very special thing acknowledging our Tupuna. I took part in prepping the hangi and also waking up at 5:00 to get the fire ready for when the hangi went in. The hard part was cutting the onion cause I cried. The easy part was doing the rest of the vegetables.

Waitangi trip

This term I am learning about the first encounter of the British and Maori. I travelled to Waitangi with my class and we learnt about the first encounters the people who were involved but the main focus was to learn and create digital objects about the encounter of British and Maori. But before we started we had to learn information about the first encounter so we went on a walk around the museum and the treaty grounds gathering information. The most memorable thing for me on the walk was the museum because it had information about our Maori Rangatira and their weapons. My favourite technology item was the Sculpt GL because you were able to create carvings.
